I was a little disappointed when I first saw the hotel. I didn't want to stay in a motel, so I chose a hotel. I didn't expect it to be a motel. However, I was still pleasantly surprised when I checked in. Except that the motel didn't have an elevator and I needed to carry my luggage to the second floor, everything else was no different from a hotel. The room was large, the facilities were new, the bed was comfortable, and the hygiene was very good.

This is a sad old-style motel. The rooms are small and dark, with worn out furnishings. In our room, the toilet ran continuously, and although we reported it immediately, no-one came to repair it (but we were only there one night). There was a musty smell in the bathroom. The upholstered seats and the drapes were stained and the furniture water-marked from drinks. Oddly, the bathroom offered two types of conditioner, but no shampoo! The room did have a working microwave and an ample sized and quiet fridge. No USB outlets had been added, though these are now common in most motels. This room was like something out of the 1960s. On the plus side, the staff were very helpful and accommodating, and the included breakfast was very good. I particularly appreciated the labeling of allergens in the breakfast food - something you often don't get in much more expensive lodgings. If you have to stop somewhere in Yreka, this might be a good option - but try and make sure you don't have to stay more than one night.

I can't say enough about my stay here. The room was extremely clean, and the beds were very comfortable. The staff were very helpful and always had a smile on their face. The breakfast was good and tasty. They even had gluten-free bagels and muffins. This was a good surprise as I am gluten intolerant. I was in Yreka because my sister-in-law passed away. Jeff and Marsha had lived in Fort Jones for over 34 years. My brother stayed with me at the hotel and he is visually impaired and the staff were very accommodating to us. When they saw us coming in every morning they made sure that we had a table to sat at and would help me with whatever we needed. We will be returning shortly to Yreka and we will be staying here again. Thank you all for making our stay welcoming.

A great place to stop for a night!
We only stayed one night as a stop over, but the front desk hostess was super friendly and full of local lore and suggestions for hidden gems to see, restaurants and shopping. My wife and I agreed that a trip back to Yreka would be worth it!

The staff were amazing. The heater in my room didn't work and the immediately moved to an upgraded room. They were very attentive and helpful.
